This committee requires 24 members (12 clergy and 12 elders).

The duties and responsibilities of this committee are too extensive to be completely examined and listed herein, but are stipulated in the Book of Order (G-11.05.02 which includes:

visiting and consulting with each minister of the Presbytery;
making recommendations to the Presbytery concerning calls for the services of its ministers;
visiting and discussing, with each session within the Presbytery, the mission and ministry of that church and encouraging each congregation to participate fully in the life and work of the larger church;
counseling with churches regarding calls for permanent pastors, stated supply pastors, interim pastors or interim associate pastors and temporary supply when a church is without a pastor;
serving as an instrument of Presbytery for resolving conflicts and promoting peace and harmony in and among the churches, particularly in regard to matters arising out of the relations between ministers and congregations;
annually reviewing the adequacy of compensation for pastors, throughout the Presbytery; and to promote the interests of the Board of Pensions;
examining all ordained candidates for membership in the Presbytery;
