Leadership, Education and Development

Meeting: 1^st Thursday of the Month - 2 p.m. - Presbytery Office (This is subject to change.)

This committee has 9 members (3 clergy and 6 laity).

The duties and responsibilities of the committee include providing and promoting the resources and programs of Christian Education and Leadership to the local churches and to the Presbytery and to achieve the following:

1. respond to all Christian Education needs of the Presbytery;
2. provide and promote a Christian Education Resource Center to supplement the printed, audio-visual and human resources of local churches;
3. assist congregations in developing and implementing effective Christian Education programs;
4. provide and encourage training for teachers, officers, pastors, youth and other leaders within the local churches;
5. support and promote Presbyterian camps, conference and retreat programs available to our Presbytery;
6. provide programs, supervision and support for Presbytery-wide youth events, including the "Youth Advisory Delegate" (YAD) Program;
7. nominate to the Presbytery, annually, candidates for youth advisory delegates and alternates to General Assembly and to the Synod of the Northeast.
