Nominating Committee

Meeting: 2^nd Monday - 1:30 PM - Presbytery Office

This committee requires 9 members (3 clergy/3 laymen/3 laywomen).

The duties and responsibilities of this committee shall be to seek and nominate candidates to fill all vacancies on permanent committees (except the Nominating Committee), as well as the Council, Task Forces, Commissions and other agencies that require election by the Presbytery, and to:

insure full participating of PC(USA) members into the life of the Presbytery by adhering to the Book of Order (G-4.0403);
prepare and maintain an accurate record of personnel needs of the various committees;
seek input from chairpersons so as to increase the effectiveness of their committees by matching talents, interests and skills with committee needs;
recruit and nominate commissioner candidates for Synod and General Assembly;
seek and present in nomination, the slate of candidates for each successive "class" of committee membership;
present the first name in nomination for the position of Vice-Moderator of the Presbytery;
