Malawi DR000158
Heavy rains in January caused major flooding that swept away crops, livestock, homes, and displaced several hundred of people. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has provided funds to the Chingale Neno Recovery and Development Program (CHINRAD) to help in their recovery efforts the provision of maize seed and fertilizer. In addition, food assistance is being provided for the next four months while families await their harvest.
CHINRAD is also working with the communities as they continue to recover from the effects of multi-year famine and food security issues that PDA has been supporting over the last few years. Visit the Web site: https://www.pcusa.org/give/online/project?DR000158 ; a report on these efforts along with videos can be found on the PDA web site at: http://www.pcusa.org/pda/response/africa/malawi-chingale030608.htm.
